Edusp – University of São Paulo Press –is one of the largest university publishers in Brazil. Founded in 1962, functioned as co-editor of several works for almost thirty years. Its publishing department was created only in 1988, when the activities of selecting and editing its own titles began. Since then, it has launched more than 1,500 books and achieved a high editorial standard, establishing a unique identity and defining new parameters for Brazilian academic publishing. For the excellence of its efforts, Edusp received important awards over the years and became a reference in terms of academic, scientific, and design quality.
Committed to the mission of stimulating and promoting research and teaching, Edusp publishes relevant works in many areas, in particular the scientific production from the University of São Paulo itself, but not only. Therefore, Edusp seeks to meet the needs of students, teachers, and researchers, as well as of the general public, spreading beyond the academy the knowledge produced in it. The catalogue ranges from textbooks to cutting-edge researches, from classical works to contemporary theories, both national and international, as well as studies on the most representative Brazilian writers and artists and also art books.
